Therapy with Me
Evidence-based therapy, tailored to you
I am an endorsed Counselling & Clinical Psychologist providing assessment, formulation, diagnosis and treatment to individuals (adolescents 16+ years and adults) in South Fremantle, Western Australia.
My approach places primary focus on the therapeutic alliance as a confidential and safe space for healing and growth. I seek to offer a respectful, safe, and non-judgemental space for clients to deepen awareness and self-acceptance, adopt positive coping strategies, find meaning, and enhance their psychological wellbeing.
I hold a PhD in the area of disenfranchised grief and social support. As such, I have a particular interest in the importance of relational attachment and give focus to how individuals can internalise important relationships, develop resilience in the face of life-changing events, and learn to live with significant losses. I have received specialised training to support clients and their loved ones who are in the process of navigating or have navigated Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) in WA.
Further to this, I have experience with a range of other presenting issues including depression, anxiety, issues of self-esteem and identity, relational difficulties, historical and recent trauma, and general life transitions (emerging adulthood, parenthood and raising children with complex care needs, career change, retirement). I offer short and long term therapy both in-person and via video call (Telehealth).
I am an integrative therapist and, depending on the client’s needs, may draw upon Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, parts work (Internal Family Systems and Schema Therapy), Existential Therapy, Attachment-Informed Grief Therapy, and other evidence-based models. I am also trained in Eye-Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR).
Fees & Rebates
No referral is required to attend psychology sessions. Appointments are charged at $240 for 50 minutes. The Australian Association of Psychologists Incorporate (AAPi) recommended rate for psychology is presently set at $340. I aim to keep my fees well below this rate and very low income clients may be offered a further reduced rate.
Clients with a GP Mental Health Care Plan or Psychiatrist Better Access Referral are eligible for a Medicare rebate of $149.05 on up to 10 sessions per calendar year. Medicare rebates are processed at the time of payment and only cover individual therapy (not couples or family therapy).
Alternatively, individuals or couples/families may instead claim a portion of their session from their Private Health Insurer using their Extras Cover.
I am also able to see clients who are funded by DVA, NDIS (plan and self managed), Workers Compensation, or an Employee Assistance Program with a self-chosen provider arrangement.
